Dimapur, Sep. 23 (EMN): Temsujungla Jamir from MGHSS in Mokokchung was awarded for her mechanical cassava grinding machine project from among the top 60 innovators at the 9th national level exhibition and project competition of the INSPIRE MANAK held at Pragati Maidan in New Delhi from September 14 to the 16th.

An update from SCERT stated that the union minister of Science and Technology, minister of state (independent charge), Dr. Jitendra Singh gave away memento and certificates to the top 60 award recipients on September 16.

It mentioned that the award was instituted by the Ministry of Science and Technology, Department of Science and Technology and National Innovation Foundation- India.

Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Singh stated that during the year 2020-21, while the country was battling with the severe impact of COVID-19, the annual INSPIRE Awards – MANAK (Million Minds Augmenting National Aspiration and Knowledge) competition attracted an unprecedented 6.53 lakh ideas and innovations from all states. He added that the scheme touched an unparalleled level of inclusivity by representing ideas and innovations of 702 districts of the country.

The director of SCERT Nagaland, Chumchanbeni Kikon, while congratulating Temsujungla Jamir on her achievement, requested all schools in Nagaland to register in the INSPIRE Awards -MANAK scheme portal and nominate students for the award.

Meanwhile, SCERT has informed to organise an orientation on INSPIRE MANAK for DEOs and teachers at SCERT on September 26 at 10 am. All DEOs or their representatives designated as district nodal officers are asked to attend the programme.

It also informed all school heads or representatives (Science or Computer teachers) of GHS and GHSS and Elementary Schools in Kohima district both government and private schools are asked to attend.

It further informed online orientation for all school heads and representative (Science or computer teachers) in Nagaland both government and private schools on INSPIRE MANAK award registration and nomination would be conducted on the same day at 1 pm. They are asked to link to meet.google.com/drf-omew-qwn for google meet or contact the state nodal officer on phone no. 8810626588.
