THE Naga Hoho at a consultative meeting with all Tribe Hohos at Hotel Vivor Kohima on September 28 unanimously reaffirmed its earlier resolutions, passed on May 3, 2013 at Hotel Japfu Kohima and the Resolution No. 4 of the Federal Assembly held on June 28, 2013 at Hotel Vivor, Kohima, on formation of Nagaland Tribe Council (NTC). After a threadbare deliberation in regard to formation of NTC, the house unanimously resolved to reaffirm the earlier resolutions that “the formation of such a body (NTC) is premature and it is not appropriate for the Naga society at this juncture when the Nagas are struggling for social and political fraternity,” according to a release issued by Naga Hoho president Keviletuo Kiewhuo and assistant general secretary Nikhrolo Khalo on Tuesday.
The consultative meeting in Kohima on September 28 was attended by ‘adequate representatives’ of all the Tribe Hohos from Nagaland which included Ao, Angami, Chakhesang, Kyong, Sumi, Pochury and Zeliangrong, the release said.
The meeting further resolved that if at all it is necessary to form NTC, it should be thoroughly discussed and initiated by the Tribe Hohos and not by any individual imposing their will and interest upon the mandated Tribe Hohos.
