Naga Hoho reaffirms decision against NTC formation

THE Federal Assembly of Naga Hoho, held at Hotel Vivor Kohima on Thursday and attended by 18 Tribe Hohos, unanimously resolved to strongly reaffirm earlier resolutions against formation of Nagaland Tribes Council (NTC).
According to a release issued by Information & Publicity Secretary of Naga Hoho C Daipao, the seven Tribe Hohos from Nagaland – Angami Public Organization, Ao Senden, Rengma Hoho, Pochury Public Forum, Kyong Hoho, Chakhesang Public Organization and Zeliangrong Baudi – have also strongly reiterated that they will neither participate nor send their representatives to NTC keeping in mind the unity and peace among the Naga family.The Federal Assembly reaffirmed the resolution passed during Naga Hoho consultative meeting held on May 3, 2013 at Hotel Japfu Kohima, the Resolution No. 4 of the Federal Assembly held on June 28, 2013 at Hotel Vivor, Kohima and the resolution of the Naga Hoho consultative meeting on September 28, 2013 at Hotel Vivor Konia on the issue of formation of NTC. The release stated that during the deliberation on the various issues on Thursday, the formation of the ‘so-called’ Nagaland Tribes Council (NTC) was once again surfaced in the house. Following the deliberation, the unanimously resolution was taken.
The release further said in the event of necessity arises to form NTC within Nagaland state in future, it should be thoroughly deliberated amongst the mandated/established Tribe Hohos with the participation of all tribes with proper consultation of Naga Hoho in the interest of common Naga people.
