Whenever any national party leaders land up in Nagaland as well as North East region, they are the number one who will praise the hospitality of all of us, exclaiming at the top of their appreciation, how we are gifted in greeting guest, taking good care of them and the likes. Accordingly, a lot of programmes were carried out in the past decade in hospitality sector where a lot of boys and girls from North East underwent training for the same, and still pursuing in collaboration with private as well as government institutions all over the country. Naga Hoho wishes even the institutions to share their solidarity and opinions with us in such a racist related orders and assure us that no such stay away orders is imparted in their syllabus, be it Chinese top delegation or any officials across the world.
The Naga Hoho strongly resents the prohibitory orders issued to the North Eastern staffers of a hotel in Ahmedabad, Gujarat where they were told “to stay away from the hotel premises during the stay of Chinese premier Xi Jingpin.”
The decision of excluding North Easterns at the hotel no doubt comes from a top level, be it the Chinese or the Indian security agencies. Whichever agency has imposed this segregationist order against North Easterns shouldn’t let go as a forgivable error. The Ministry of Home Affairs should probe and take appropriate action and measures immediately. The irony of this ugly episode is that when the Chinese First Lady visited Tagore International School, she was rather embarrassed by a Class VII student, Albert Ginsangmuam, from Manipur, a mongoloid race, when he confidently said that he was an Indian and not Chinese although he was dressed all desi desi, his same race down south in India were denied entry even in their own work place? Isn’t this amount racial discrimination?
The border row between Indo-China in the form of displaying banners to one another catches the eye of every media house, departments, individuals across India, however it is very unfortunate on the part of each and every Indian when they lose their head, heart, and voice against those agency(s) and persons who encourages, favours or practices segregation like the current prohibitory order issued against North Eastern staffers working at the hotel in Ahmedabad, Gujarat. Lots have been praised and written about the successful visit of Chinese Premier to India, and whether, the prohibitory orders issued against the North Easterns to stay away from the hotel has been included in the successful lists of rolls has to answered to us.
Security agencies of India knows all the inside out of insurgency affected people across India, the orders to stay away from the hotel against North Eastern if issued for the sake of Tibetans protesting against Chinese delegation visiting India, Indian security agencies should learn from Albert before they commit another racial segregationists inborn mindset against us. While scrutinizing the whole episodes and the mindset of the people in the main land India, we feel that the struggle for self determination in the NE region by different political groups is genuinely justified.
