Naga Hoho meets AK Mishra, lauds his efforts to settle Indo-Naga political issue
The solution will be honourable and acceptable to all the Nagas, the delegation told
Dimapur, April 23 (EMN): The Naga Hoho has expressed its appreciation to AK Mishra, government of India’s interlocutor for Naga peace talks, for his “painstaking efforts to come to Nagaland to carry forward the peace negotiation and understand the sentiments of the people by taking into confidence the voices of the Nagas”.
In a press statement, the Naga Hoho said that the interlocutor gave a patient hearing to its delegation during their meeting.
A six-member Naga Hoho delegation led by its president H K Zhimomi and general K Elu Ndang had a meeting with Mishra at Chumoukedima Police Complex on Saturday.
The Hoho said that the interlocutor apprised its team about the ongoing talks with the Naga political groups “with a positive note” and that the solution would be honourable and acceptable to all the Nagas.
“While every Naga soul is yearning for peaceful solution, the Hoho appeal to all the Naga political groups to let good sense prevail and avoid provocative statements against each other as we anticipate a common solution for all the Nagas across borders,” read the statement.
Mishra, who arrived in Nagaland earlier this week, has been holding hectic parleys with the NSCN (IM), Working Committee Naga National Political Parties, church leaders and civil society organisations in an attempt to bring a solution to the protected Naga political issue.
