DIMAPUR — The Naga Hoho has resolved to extend the present tenure (2019-2023) for another six month, which would be regularised by the federal assembly.
The resolution to this effect was taken during its presidential council meeting held on August 31 at Hotel Saramti, Dimapur. An update from the communication cell stated that the extension of tenure was necessitated keeping in mind the prevailing situations and with reference to its Yehzabo provisions under Article 8 clause 4.
The house after thorough discussion also reaffirmed to support the ongoing political talks for an early political settlement.
Meanwhile, in pursuant to its 1st federal assembly resolution No. 6 and to pursue for early Naga political solution, the hoho has reconstituted the Committee on Naga Political Affairs (CONPA).
