DIMAPUR, JULY 1

The Naga Hoho consultative meeting has ‘unanimously’ resolved to direct the Mao Council to immediately withdraw the memorandum on land dispute submitted to the government of Manipur within five days period.
The Naga Hoho consultative meeting held on Wednesday at The Heritage Kohima and passed three resolutions.
“After a thorough discussion on the ensuing impasse between the SAPO and Mao Council, the house unanimously resolved to direct the Mao Council to immediately withdraw the memorandum submitted to the government of Manipur within five days period,” one of the resolutions said. The consultative meeting acknowledged the decision of the Naga Hoho in serving the directives issued to both the SAPO and the Mao Council on June 5, 2015.
The consultative meeting then deliberated at length the border issues pertaining with Assam. It resolved to apprise the Nagaland state government to immediately convene an emergency meeting with all the tribal bodies in order to have a wider consultation.
The meeting also seriously viewed the pathetic condition of the road on National Highway- 2, connecting Kohima and Mokokchung and resolved to impress upon the National Highway Authority and the government of Nagaland particularly between Botsa and Doyang River to execute the work immediately.
Corrigendum: Apropos the news item “Naga Hoho condemns Governor’s hate speech” published on Tuesday in this daily, the Hoho chief has clarified that the date should be read as March 26 and not as rendered.
