Dimapur, Aug. 12 (EMN): The Naga Hoho has condemned the “dastardly act” of the 32 Assam Rifles personnel in Zunheboto on August 7 where innocent public were physically assaulted.
“The barbaric and inhuman act of the Assam Rifles not sparing even women deserves condemnation from all right thinking citizen. The act of creating fear and unrest in the minds of the innocent public has been the nature of the so called “Security personnel”. They claims to be “Friends of the Hills People” but in every sense of the term they are the true perpetrators of the Naga people,” read the statement issued by Naga Hoho Communication Cell.
“The old habits of arrest and torture have once again reminded the Naga people of how cruel and merciless is the Assam Rifles in not considering the Naga people as equals. All these are meted out under the guise of the infamous Armed Forces Special Powers Act (AFSPA),” added the statement.
The Hoho has also appealed to the concerned authority to immediately intervene and ensure that innocent public are safe and free in their own land and take befitting actions against the perpetrators.
