- DIMAPUR — The
Naga Gaonburahs Federation (NGBF) has called for a bilateral ceasefire between
the government of India and the NSCN-K (Ang Mai-Mülatonu), urging both parties
to prioritise a comprehensive and lasting resolution to the Indo-Naga-Myanmar
political issue.
- In a statement issued on Saturday, the NGBF emphasised the
need for a unified approach to the issue, stating that "there cannot be
multiple or stage-wise solutions to what is essentially a single, unified
political issue.”

- “The Naga issue cannot be resolved by dividing the Nagas
through separate dialogues,” it added.
- The federation stressed the importance of pursuing a
long-term solution and appealed to the government of India and the NSCN-K (Ang
Mai-Mülatonu) to "act with maturity and a sense of responsibility" in
reaching a mutually agreeable ceasefire.
- Citing reports of ongoing formal and informal meetings
between the two parties, the federation urged them to finalise the bilateral
ceasefire "without further delay."
