  • DIMAPUR — The Naga Gaonburahs Federation (NGBF) has called for a bilateral ceasefire between the government of India and the NSCN-K (Ang Mai-Mülatonu), urging both parties to prioritise a comprehensive and lasting resolution to the Indo-Naga-Myanmar political issue.

  • In a statement issued on Saturday, the NGBF emphasised the need for a unified approach to the issue, stating that "there cannot be multiple or stage-wise solutions to what is essentially a single, unified political issue.”

  • “The Naga issue cannot be resolved by dividing the Nagas through separate dialogues,” it added.

  • The federation stressed the importance of pursuing a long-term solution and appealed to the government of India and the NSCN-K (Ang Mai-Mülatonu) to "act with maturity and a sense of responsibility" in reaching a mutually agreeable ceasefire.

  • Citing reports of ongoing formal and informal meetings between the two parties, the federation urged them to finalise the bilateral ceasefire "without further delay."
