Naga FC blanked Falcon FC 7-0 to advance to the second round of the ongoing 21st Classic Cup Tournament held at Kohima Local Ground.
Playing the third match of the day, Naga FC took the lead through Keviphretuo Kire in the 16th minute. Barely five minutes after the first goal, Keviphretuo found the net again in the 21st minute, followed by Keneisedelie Chütso in the 27th minute.
Entering the second half, Naga FC went all out to humiliate their rivals as Vimelie Chase and Kezevituo Vizo scored in the 45th and 47th minutes to take the score line to 5-0.Vimelie again found the net in the 53rd minute, while he went on to score his hat-trick goal in the 57th minute, becoming the second player to do so in the tournament. Te match ended with 7-0 in favour of Naga FC.
Earlier in the first match, Lhisemia Youth Organization (LYO) made it to the next round after they survived a tie-break against Galaxy FC.
The stipulated time ended in 2-2 draw as the two teams headed for tie-break, wherein LYO emerged victorious.
Vilhoubeituo Yhome of LYO gave his team an early lead as he got past the keeper in the 4th minute. However, Galaxy soon found the equalizer through Kekhrieneizolie Rino in the 8th minute. LYO again took the lead for the second time in the 15th minute through Mhasibeituo Yhome, but their celebration was short lived as Rokovilie Medoze equalized again in the 32nd minute.
In the first match, Hurricane Boys had a narrow win against Venns United FC. Thejanguzo Zashümo was the only goal scorer as the match ended with 1-0 in favour of Hurricane Boys.
