Addressing a campaign in Phesama village, he said the boundary issue is not new and should not be portrayed as a political agenda, while citing the government’s limitations under the privileges granted by the constitution.
He also said the government is keen on building the area (constituency) into an education hub and a tourist destination. “Whatever our government could execute for our constituency during the last tenure, it does not end there. We have done it with long term vision, for sustainability and posterity,” he said.
He further added the pre-poll coalition’s focus is mainly on youth, skill development, entrepreneurship, farmers and micro-financing. Sensing the need to include women in decision making, the NDPP has issued tickets to aspiring women candidates, he said, adding that the focal point of the party is gender equity.

While thanking the villagers for their support and cooperation, he told them to treat him as a brother and friend, and call him by name, as he wants to discuss local issues as a peer.
Yhokha further said that the Naga political issue is a “process” and elected representatives as facilitators remain committed to pursuing the issue forward to a logical conclusion.
