EMN Dimapur, February 2 [dropcap]T[/dropcap]he Naga Council of Dimapur has urged the district administration and the police of Dimapur to get their socks up so that terrorists and terror activities in the commercial town of Nagaland would be curbed before it becomes a regular, out-of-control malady. The council issued a press release on Monday, and appended by president of the council T Bangerloba and the council’s treasurer Dietho Rhakho.“Dimapur has being terrorized with such terror activities in recent past by outsiders and therefore it is assuring that our Law enforcing agency is well prepared to keep check on such terror and destructive motive and will not allow such activity go off the hook,” the council stated. The council appreciated the Dimapur administration and police for arresting the terrorists involved in the January 5 bomb explosion at Eros Colony. The public organization has appealed to the competent authorities to impose rigorous penalties upon the militants to deter any more nefarious activities. The council also appreciated the renovation of approach roads along Murgipati in Dimapur town being undertaken by the Dimapur Municipal Council (DMC). The works are being undertaken by use of DMC toll taxes collected by the agency. During a joint meeting on November 21 in 2014 by the council with various civic organizations, there was agreement that the ‘Lessee system’ practiced by the Urban Development department should be abolished. The issue of tax collection should be streamlined, the council said, so that funds generated by the government agencies would be utilized judiciously for good governance and developmental works for the public and to promote transparent development.
