Naga cart racing held at Wokha

Wokha, Nov. 6 (EMN): Myamo Jami, District Transport Officer, Wokha graced the morning session as the special guest on traditional games where he flagged off the Naga cart racing at 8:30 am below Wokha Town Baptist Church, Wokha on Monday. Speaking on the occasion he thank the organisers for taking up the initiative in preserving and making alive to the present younger generation of our old traditions. He encouraged to continue, contribute and promote the traditional games and informed the community to come and actively participate to preserve and respect the culture which is our identity. Basket weaving, cloth weaving, yodeling, carting pushing race and grease bamboo pole climbing was the other highlights of the afternoon. The evening session was graced by Dr. Chumben Murry, former minister, Government of Nagaland as the special guest.
