Local rockers from Nagaland Abiogenesis received an award called ‘Pride of The North East award’ from the vice chancellor of Royal Global University at Guwahati on Feb.7 during the inaugural ceremony of “Consensio 2020,” a festival which is conducted for three-days annually in the university’s campus. This was informed in a press note. The group’s members Arenla Subong and Moa Subong received the award, updates stated.
Vice Chancellor University of Health Sciences in Assam, Srimanta Sankardeva inaugurated the event along with guests of honour seasoned mountaineer Anshu Jamsenpa of Arunachal, the first Indian woman to scale the Mt. Everest five times, and singer, composer and music director Tarali Sarma.
“The award is conferred to icons of Northeast who has made an outstanding contribution in their respective field and has an indelible impression across India and abroad. Arenla and Moa performed two of their Howey songs to the delight of the crowd. An eclectic cultural extravaganza of traditional dance performances was showcased by the students of RGU,” the updates stated.
Some of the highlights of this year’s festival included business school competitions, fine arts, and performing art events. Updates informed that students from the region and the rest of India are participating in the festival.
