Naga artiste releases new music video

Dimapur, April 14 (EMN): Naga artiste, Ilitoli Kumsu Shohe, released a new music video titled ‘Asheshina Wuvelo’ (Go swiftly) on April 14.

The video was released by vice president of NSCN (R), Akato Chophi at Hotel Saramati.

Ilitoli Kumsu Shohe said that the song ‘Asheshina Wuvelo’ is an old Sumi love song composed by Tovili Y Zhomi which was first sang at All India Radio (AIR) Kohima in the year 1975.

Shohe mentioned that Zhomi is a well known legendary artist, singer and composer and was the first among the Sumi women to perform in AIR kohima and added that all together Zhomi has composed more than 20 songs till date.

Shohe said that after contemplating on the song for a long period of time she approached Zhimo to promote the song with the motive to enlighten the younger generation about yesteryears artistes who was at its peak during her era.

At the releasing programme, Akato Chophi expressed his happiness to be part of the video release.

While expressing himself as a music lover, Chophi said that music does not just motivate people but also helps reduce stress and promote a more positive mindset.

Chophi encouraged the gathering to support talented artistes and learn to uplift and promote them and added that love comes through music as music can communicate basic human feelings regardless of the listener’s cultural and ethnic background.

The programme was chaired by Toly Chophi and benediction prayer was proposed by Associate women pastor, Thahekhu Isali Chophi.
