NAAC peer team on assessment visit to Nagaland University

DIMAPUR — The National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) peer team arrived Nagaland University headquarters at Lumami, Zunheboto district, on Monday on a three-day assessment visit.

The NAAC peer team, led by Dr. Bhabesh Chandra Goswami, former Vice Chancellor of Cotton University, comprises distinguished members from various reputed institutions across the country, an update stated.

The team, consisting of Dr. Subir Biswas, professor at West Bengal University; Dr. Sartik Bagh from BBAU, Luknow; Dr. LB Laxmikanth Rathod, Vice Chancellor of Palamuru University; Dr. Sujatha Peela from Brau University, Srikakulam, and Dr. Nirankar Srivastava, former professor at NEHU, was accorded a warm welcome by Vice Chancellor of NU Prof. Jagadish Kumar Patnaik, Registrar Dr. Abemo, IQAC Director Prof. Dipak Sinha and Pro Vice Chancellors of different campuses, faculties, and officers.

During their visit from April 1 to the 3rd, the peer team will meticulously assess all campuses of Nagaland University, including Lumami, Kohima, Medziphema, and Dimapur.

Their evaluation will encompass all departments, sections, centers, and offices, aiming to provide comprehensive feedback for the enhancement of the university’s academic and administrative standards.

Prof. Deepak Sinha, Director of IQAC, emphasised the significance of evaluation, highlighting its role in fostering continuous improvement within the university. He expressed confidence in the university’s readiness to undergo rigorous scrutiny and welcomed constructive feedback from the esteemed panel.

Vice Chancellor Prof. Jagadish Kumar Patnaik conveyed his gratitude to the NAAC peer team for undertaking the crucial assessment. He expressed optimism that the university’s commitment to excellence in education and research will be duly recognised, and the evaluation process will yield positive outcomes.

He also presented the brief details and upcoming projects of Nagaland University.
