Mysterious human hand sent for post mortem at Imphal to unearth details

Dimapur, Dec. 5 (EMN): The mysterious human hand that was found at Maram Bazaar under Senapati district in Manipur has been taken to Jawaharlal Nehru Institute of Medical Sciences (JNIMS), Imphal for post mortem, to identify gender and ascertain the age, according to police.

A dog was spotted carrying a human hand at Maram Bazaar area on December 3, shocking the people in the area.

Officer-in-charge of Mao police station, Jonah Chawang told Eastern Mirror that that the police conducted search operations in the areas that were not covered on December 3 including the cemeteries, and other possible places but nothing was found.

He said that they have requested the public to share if they have any information regarding the incident.

‘On our part, investigation has been initiated and we are trying our level best to dig out but nothing has come out yet; we are still trying whatever possible ways we could,’ he said.

He informed that a doctor, who was on his way home from duty, reported the incident to him on Wednesday evening.

As soon as the police received the information, the mysterious human hand was retrieved, and on Thursday, they along with the locals, Assam Rifles personnel and their sniffing dogs conducted an intensive search without any positive result.

"This is very mysterious incident which I have never faced before," said the police officer.
