DIMAPUR — A total of 12 armed cadres from Myanmar-based NSCN(K) led by Maj. Gen. Tingkam Konyak and Brigadier Tampha Konyak joined NSCN(R) .
An NSCN(R) ’s statement through its MIP stated that an official programme to welcome the officers and cadres was held at its council headquarters (CHq), Pinhang, in Tizit under Mon district on October 7.
It stated that both the president, Y Wangtin Naga, and ato kilonser, P Tikhak, have expressed happiness and thanked the officers and cadres for taking the right decision in joining the party and warmly welcomed all the members under its fold.
Meanwhile, Maj. Gen. Tingkam Konyak and Brigadier Tampha Konyak have thanked the collective leadership of NSCN (R) for giving them another opportunity to work for the nation. They have expressed complete faith in the leadership of its president and ato kilonser and vowed to work with renewed zeal and vigour for the Naga national cause.
They also expressed unhappiness over the killing of Naga brothers in Myanmar. Terming the situation in Myanmar as highly disturbing, they stated that it is not helping any of the groups or factions in any manner but rather sending a wrong signal to the outside world.
“The leaders in both the camps must understand that they are becoming more directionless with each factional clash and are only ridiculing the Naga cause. We appeal to both the warring factions to come to their senses and stop the senseless killing immediately and prevent further loss of life and suffering of the Naga people in Myanmar,” they added.
