I am not perfect but I am only speaking out my sincere views in the events of the situation.
I have been pleading for equal wage between men and women which was resolved to be supported by NMA in their meeting at Kohima village and I have been expressing my concern about humiliation of women especially widows. But on ULB issue, as far as Nagaland is concerned, reservation of 33% for women is not necessary and women should go together with the public of the Nagas and not to go against the interest of the public.
In the event of public commotion, the Nagas often forget Christ. Once Niathu Resort was destroyed by mob out of communalism which showed Godlessness. Last year in the event of public upheaval against ULB election, the attempt made by extremists to destroy the house of the Chief Minister was a matter of excessiveness. It is a very sad thing that two precious lives were lost in the incident. Who opened fire? I blame them. But who led the mob to destroy the house? They are blamed too, because the act is beyond the limit.
In connection with the sad incident the Municipal houses were burnt up. It is learnt that the perpetrators got drunk with the contraband goods of wine stored there. Whose losses are the destruction of the houses? In spite of being Christians, are the people given licence to perpetrate such barbarous acts of violence? Vast majority of our people are professed believers of Christ without Christians conscience.
Naga societies are floating on emotionalism and digging the truth is found lacking. With regard to the much emphasis of slogan,” INCLUSIVENESS”. I too one who pleaded for it. But is it inclusiveness in accepting the success or failure of one another’s success or failure with the spirit of tolerance and reconciliation? It is constructive inclusiveness. If inclusiveness is intended by rubbing off the slate and to rewrite the whole set, it is not the spirit of reconciliation. So inclusiveness should be in the spirit of true reconciliation and forwardness by accepting the success or achievement or failure of one another without which it will be impracticable to any organisation.
Any time, any where and in any thing we have to look up to Christ first and then act.
