Musicians Guild to present 9th edition of World Music Day in Kohima

KOHIMA — The Musicians Guild is all set to present the ninth edition of the World Music Day 2024 at The Heritage in Kohima on June 21. This was announced by the Musicians Guild during a press conference on Saturday.

The artiste lineup this time includes guest band Rain in Sahara and various artistes from Nagaland like Version 2, Akhrieze, Atiro Kiho, Kivito, Senti Yabang, Zayie Zacchaeus, The Gluttones and Papersky.

President of Musicians Guild Mele Pucho informed that they have been celebrating the occasion since 2016. Other districts have also picked up and started celebrating the day in the past few years. In Kohima especially, the celebrations have been consistent so far, he said. 

“Through the event, we want to bring all the musicians under one umbrella where we can support and encourage one another,” Pucho said.

The occasion is one where all the stakeholders in the music industry come forward to support each other and celebrate. Besides, the day is also marked to give good treats to the followers of musicians, he added.

He further informed that the event will be family-friendly and encouraged all to come and enjoy the show and celebrate the occasion.

Following the successful first edition of ‘Dance battle’ last year, the second edition will also be held simultaneously with the music show on June 15. Dance battle, organised by Lamgrace Dance Studio, would begin at 3:30 pm while music show will start at 5 pm.

Ticket for the show is priced at INR 200.

The 2024 edition is initiated by the Symphony Academy of Music, Kohima and will be presented by the Musicians Guild, in collaboration with Audio Garage, Life Pro Productions, Shiu Lights, San Production, Tozo Powerline.

The partners for the WMD celebration are The Heritage, Alder Retreat, 2K Hotel, My Retreat, DE Oriental Grand, LA colline, Imprint, Disong Design, Alder college, Kros College, RSL, Synergy Group Enterprise, Geisou Sound,AK tools Hub, Kohima canopy, City Gym, Mon School of Music, CZ Powerline, Whito School,3E Nagaland, AK Events, Backspace Enterprise, Elpis Academy of Music, Music Academy Tseminyu and Mount Hermon Higher Secondary School.
