Musical classes mark day-2 of Brillante Piano Festival
KOHIMA — Hands-on training sessions and master classes to enhance musical skills marked the second day to the three-day Brillante Piano Festival that began on Friday at Capital Cultural Hall in Kohima.
Workshops included piano masterclass A by Dr. Adam J Greig, academic coordinator of KMMC; introduction to jazz by Aki Spadaro of Goa Jaz Academy; piano technique for beginning and early students by Zingrin Shishak, dean of Music, MSSM; piano performance and stagecraft by Nise Meruno, Yamaha embassador and many more.
The finalists for Jazz category are Anchit Sharma (14) from Assam, Angana Kashyap (14) from Assam, Aamir Rizvi (20) from Kolkata, Mantra Upadhyay (12) from Gujarat, and Jaisheej Paul (21) from West Bengal.
For the classical A, the finalists are Angana Kashyap (14) from Assam, Dajied Krypang Suchiang (15) from Meghalaya, Rose Dam Roy (10) from West Bengal, Menguvor Metsieo, (15) from Nagaland, and Mangkyrpang Kharshiing (15) from Meghalaya.
In the classical B, Abhro Roy (23) from West Bengal, Vashu Tangri (20) from New Delhi, Givenstar Nongkhlaw Khongmen, Anushman Singh Cheema (18) from Haryana, and Yolü Nüvocho (22) from Nagaland were selected for the finals scheduled on October 1.
The event would witness finale concerts, panel discussions with artists and competition finals on Sunday.
