Dimapur, October 11 : Tenyiphe-I Women Organisation, Western Chakhesang Mothers Association and Zhavame Union, Dimapur have vehemently condemned the horrific murder of Medovilie Movi, daughter of Motesuo Movi, of Zhavame village by unknown miscreant(s) at Tenyiphe-I village on the night of October 8.
“The gory act of the criminals who entered the house of the deceased and inflicted severe injuries on the head and back of her neck with machete and leaving her to die after removing all her cloths is too shocking and brutal beyond human comprehension, and such ghastly act perpetrated upon helpless women cannot be tolerated or condoned in any society,” Tenyiphe-I Women Organisation president Khrieseno and secretary Ale said in a condemnation note today.
The Tenyiphe-I Women Organisation also asserted that it will always strongly stand against such brutalities committed upon the womenfolk and the weaker sections of the society, especially when such crimes are committed within the jurisdiction of their village. It fervently appealed to the investigating authorities to leave no stone unturned till the case is brought to its logical conclusion and the culprits are brought to justice.
The women organisation further asserted to extend full cooperation to the investigating authorities and said it will not rest till the criminals are identified and justice delivered.
It expressed its heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family and said it was greatly pained by sorrow and grief experienced by the family.
Condemning the murder, the Western Chakhesang Mothers Association said it was appalled and anguished at such “abhorrent ferocity”. This kind of act has no place in our society and should be condemned by all, president of the association Bino Kenye and general secretary Akhrole Venuh said in a release.
The association urged the law enforcing agency to investigate the murder expeditiously and award befitting punishment to the culprits so that justice can be done at the earliest. It also expressed deepest condolences to the bereaved family.
Zhavame Union, Dimapur chairman Reo Dukru and general secretary Kevizelie Ri, in a condemnation note, said such barbaric act should be condemned by one and all. It also appealed to the authority concerned to arrest the culprits and punish them as per law of the land at the earliest.
