Kohima, June 21
The Music Task Force (MTF) organized a tree plantation in the campus of Regional Centre of Excellence for Music and Performing Arts in Jotsoma on June 21 led by Commissioner & Secretary for Land Resources, Menukhol John, and Director of MTF, Gugs Chishi.
Chishi asserted that the main objective for organizing tree plantation in the campus was to have a “sense of belongingness and to develop a spirit of cohesiveness amongst the musicians in the state.”
The Institute was inaugurated on December 1, 2013 and is being used for promotion of music and arts, he added.
A number of bands and musicians actively took part in the plantation during which Rhododendron and flowering plants were planted. Notable local bands such as Divine Connection, Tetseo Sisters, Theja Meru, Mele Pucho, and Mengu Suokhrie were also present.
