MT Youth Club, Alpine FC, UEC and SNC win

MT Youth Club, Alpine Football Club (FC), United Engineers Club (UEC) and Southern Naga Club (SNC) registered win in the four matches played on the second day of the 14th NSF Martyrs’ Memorial Trophy organized by Angami Students’ Union under theme ‘Goal for Peace’ at Kohima Local Ground.In the first match, MT Youth Club defeated Spartan FC by a solitary goal, scored by Hoinato Ayemi in 20th minute of the game. Two yellow cards were shown against Ketuolohoukho Zhale and Thejavizo Zhale both of Spartan FC.
In the second match, Alpine FC beat Maple FC by a lone goal netted by Stephen in 45th minute. Playing a close-shave match, United Engineer’s Club defeated Seiyhama SU by 2-1. UEC netted first through Ngullenthang Singson in 5th minute. But, Seiyhama managed to return to the game a minute before the half-time through an equalizer netted by Khriesamhalie Metha. Both sides continued with the draw until Mhasi managed to score the winning goal in injury added time.
Being the first team from Manipur to play the match in this tourney, Southern Naga Club (SNC) easily overpowered Khulazou Bawe Youth Organisation by 4-1. Samgaipou Pamei netted the first goal in the 9th minute which was followed Philemon double the margin in the 13th minute.
Khulazu managed to bring down the margin in the 22nd minute through Thovoyi Tetseo but Philemon increased it with his second and third for the team in the 31st minute to lead the first half with 3-1. Keibung Kamei netted the fourth goal in the 47th minute while Khulazu Bawe YO goal-keeper Vezovoyi Rhakho was penalised with yellow card for unsporting behavior.
