Mt. Tiyi College NSS volunteers visit children’s home
WOKHA — The National Service Scheme (NSS) volunteers of Mt. Tiyi College, Wokha, in collaboration with the department of Sociology, visited Morning Star Children’s Home in Wokha on Saturday as part of a community service extension programme.
During the visit, essential items such as stationery, toiletries, detergents, and toys were donated. The students sang songs and played games with the children, where Thungjano E Ovung shared words of encouragement.
The children also recited Bible verses and presented songs. Altogether, four faculty members and 28 students visited the children’s home.

The NSS programme officer, Rentsamo J Humtsoe, said that the programme enabled students to understand their communities and themselves, which will help them develop social and civic responsibilities.
He further thanked the proprietor of Morning Star Children’s Home, the faculty members, and the students for making the visit a memorable event.
Morning Star Children’s Home in Wokha is currently home to 23 children.
