DIMAPUR — The third edition of Mr. Sümi 2023, organised by Ecstatic Entertainment, which is scheduled to be held on Dec. 16, has called upon all interested candidates who are “Sümi by blood” for the audition on Nov. 27

This was announced during a press conference held at the Four Season Hotel in Dimapur on Thursday.

The assistant managing director of Ecstatic Entertainment, Vitoka Assumi, who is also the first Mr. Sümi, said the event will be focused on the motto “Be the change you want to see in the world”.

The advisor of Ecstatic Entertainment, Tohovi Sumi said that this year’s winner will be given the opportunity by Ecstatic Entertainment to represent Nagaland at the national and Northeast region events.

The organisers informed that the shortlisted candidates from the audition will be groomed for five days which includes physical fitness, grooming, diction and speech. Considering that the competition is for Mr. Sümi, the advisor informed that the contestants will also be asked to perform the cultural heritage of Sümi Naga and converse in Sümi.

‘Mr. Sümi is an art and culture show conceptualising the rich diversity and it will showcase the modern and traditional outlook of the younger generation. This platform will help Sümi youth to compete for the best from all the Sümi-inhabited area,’ the Managing Director and the Assistant Managing Director of Ecstatic Entertainment informed in a project profile provided to the media persons.

In this show, the organisers maintained that they will also appoint talented traditional designers who are strongly committed to preserving the priceless tradition and culture of assistant managing director Naga. “Our objectives are to promote Sümi Naga tradition and cultural heritage with a modern touch”, the organisers maintained.     

Eligibility criteria

Interested unmarried and non-engaged candidates should be between the age of 18-28 years with a height of 5 feet 5 inches and above. The candidates should submit their profile including indigenous certificates, birth certificates with two photos in full length and close-up shots, and a short introduction video from Sümi dialect to ecstaticentertainment17@gmail.com or WhatsApp at 8257038232 by Nov. 25 with a registration fee of INR 300.
