DIMAPUR — The grand finale of Mr and Miss Phom 2023 was held at Bautung Government Higher Secondary School Hall in Longleng on Sep. 29.
An update from DIPR issued on Saturday informed that the event was attended by Ase Z Pongshi Phom, the wife of Pongshi Phom, MLA 50 AC.
Pongshi Phom opined that more than the outward appearance, inner beauty is the unfailing beauty. She encouraged the contestants to be wise in handling themselves, and that to be an achiever one must always put God first. She exhilarated them to carry their masculinity and femininity and be the true sons and true daughters of the soil, as they venture into the larger world and they would.
A total of 19 contestants participated in the grand finale.
Pangshing Phom was adjudged Mr Phom 2023 and Nyangtenphela was crowned as Miss Phom 2023. Furthermore, in male category Longmei Phom bagged the 1st runner-up with additional subtitles award of Mr Talent and Mr Ethnic wear; while Konthah won the 2nd runner-up with an additional subtitle award of Mr Multimedia.
[bsa_pro_ad_space id=1]In the female category, Nyuken was awarded 1st runner-up while Lylen Mokho won the 2nd runner-up title along with Ms Ethnic Wear Subtitle.
Ms. Talent subtitle was adjudged to Theiang, and Ms Multimedia subtitle was awarded to Chupong.
The event was organised by Yingla Welfare Society (YWS) in collaboration with Lemja organisation.
The official choreographers of the event were Moile Longkongly and David M Leinak, makeup artist Angkali Kihoto Yeptho, designer B. Liang Phom and photographer James Chakhesang.
The partners for the event were Decibel, Acoustic Waves, Colours Graphic and sponsors for the event were the Florist Hub, Kon-chu, Social Sphere Centre, Hingko Dairy, Amini Design, NR Studio, Juni Book Cafe, Zaben Murry,Zeuslittleshop , She Is You , Coffee and Chill and V. Movi Fashion.
