DIPHU — The Karbi Anglong-Dima Hasao Autonomous State Demand Committee (KADHASDCOM) and its allies, including the Karbi Riso Adarbor (KRA), Karbi Adorbar (KA), Karbi Students’ Association (KSA), Karbi So-arlo Amei (KARSA), Dimasa Students’ Union (DSU), and Tiwa Students’ Union (TSU), have urged MP Amarsing Tisso to introduce a private member bill in the upcoming winter session of Parliament.

The bill seeks to address Article 244(A) of the Indian Constitution, which pertains to granting autonomous state status to the three hill districts of Assam: Karbi Anglong, West Karbi Anglong, and Dima Hasao.

KADHASDCOM president Ajit Timung informed media persons that a formal request letter had been handed to MP Tisso at the Karbi Anglong Autonomous Council (KAAC) Secretariat.
