Movement of vehicles prohibited along Dimapur-Kohima-Khuzama for 1 month

Dimapur, Oct. 6 (EMN): Movement of vehicles beyond three axles has been prohibited along the National Highway-29 stretch from Dimapur-Kohima-Khuzama from October 13 midnight to November 13.

A notification issued by the Transport department stated that heavy vehicles carrying materials, equipment or goods meant for the ongoing capital connectivity project for board gauge new line from Dhansiri to Zubza by Northeast Frontier Railway can ply on the National Highway stretch from Dimapur up to Molvom or Pherima.

It stated that the load being carried by such vehicles should be within the limits as provided in the Motor Vehicles Act, 1988 and Central Motor Vehicles Rules,1989.

The Motor Vehicles Department in coordination with district administration and the Police department concerned will enforce strict implementation and place appropriate signs under Section 116 of the Motor Vehicles Act.1988 at suitable places, it added.
