Motor rally organised to spread awareness on domestic violence

Dimapur, Dec. 10 (EMN): The Sakhi-One Stop Centre and Mahila Shakti Kendra organised a motorcycle rally as an awareness campaign for violence against women. The rally was held in collaboration with Frontier Royal Enfield En-Blok (FREE) club at Parade Ground in Tuensang on December 10, 2020.

The rally was organised with the theme “Leave no one behind, end violence against women and girls”.

Kumar Ramnikant, Deputy Commissioner Tuensang, flagged off the rally, a DIPR update read.

Speaking on the occasion, DC said spreading messages against violence is important and encouraged the club members to spread the message 'everywhere they go.'

Chulongla, the district administrator for Sakhi One Stop Centre, also said that domestic violence is a crime and just 'family problems'. She also said that to end the violence against women, it should start at home. "Spreading of message to end the violence should not end today but rather should it should be kept spreading," it added.
