DIMAPUR — Union Minister of State for Rural Development Kamlesh Paswan handed appointment letters to 366 recruits at the 18th Rozgar Mela organised by the Assam Rifles at the Assam Rifles Training Centre & School (ARTC&S), Dimapur, on Saturday.
The event highlighted the government’s focus on employment generation, youth empowerment, and transparent recruitment, showcasing collective efforts of various departments nationwide.
In his address, Paswan praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi, saying that since Modi became PM in 2014, he took a pledge to provide employment to the country's youth. Modi also created a medium for central ministers to connect with new job holders, gather feedback, and share thoughts, he said.
Assuring that the government is committed to 100% transparency in job distribution, he told the new recruits their real challenge begins now, and that their decisions will contribute to Modi's vision of "Viksit Bharat 2047"

The minister requested the recruits to make nation-building decisions and realise they're contributing to India's growth whenever they sign files.
He urged women to be proud of their achievement, work for the nation, and put "nation first," saying this mindset will make India strong.
Reiterating Modi’s commitment towards nation building, he said the PM’s goal is to integrate Northeast with the rest of India, transforming its image from a region known for insurgency to 'Ashtalakshmi.'
Central ministers, he said frequently visit the region, showcasing its growing importance.
Paswan said the minister's visit to Northeast is to assess progress, prosperity, infrastructure, rail connectivity, and air connectivity, and to send feedback to the PMO.
“This shows that when we dream of a Developed India in 2047, it will only be possible when the Northeast also walks step-by-step with us. I can definitely say that in the last one year since I have been a minister in the Government of India, I see that Modi has a special focus on the Northeast,” he said.
The minister also noted that today's biggest worry is kids not getting into sports. While acknowledging that Northeast people are super talented— excelling in studies, sports, and singing—he called on the younger generation to make time for sports as it builds honesty, dedication, and a fighting spirit.
Paswan affirmed that Modi's government is focusing on road, rail, air connectivity, and infrastructure. In the last 11-12 years, the government has focused on 'Zero Tolerance' and 'Ease of Doing Business,' he added
Addressing environmental concerns, he mentioned the Northeast is unique, but the entire nation faces environmental challenges.
That is why the central government started a campaign ‘Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam’ (A tree in the name of mother), he said.
“Wherever you go, wherever you take your post and work, you must have this resolve in your mind— what step can we take for environmental protection. If we do two things for environment and climate,” he added.
