Our Reporter
Dimapur, May 14 (EMN):
Following a one-day extension of the inter-district travel period, 717 stranded persons left Dimapur for their home districts on Thursday.

The one-day extension was permitted after many stranded people, especially from Tuensang, Mon and Kiphire districts, were left behind in Dimapur. Now, the inter-district travel window is closed.

Altogether 24 buses were provided to transport the 717 passengers.

The limited state government transportation facilities was a major problem for the whole exercise but the assistance from Dimapur Naga Students’ Union and Dimapur Eastern Naga Students’ Union, and data provided by village councils/unions, helped ease the workload.
