Dimapur, May 8 (EMN): India’s total active Covid caseload has reached 37,23,446 with 4,01,078 new cases registered in the last 24 hours, according to data provided by the Union Ministry of Health and Welfare department.
It said that Maharashtra reported the highest daily new cases at 54,022 followed by Karnataka with 48,781 and Kerala with 38,460 new cases.
The country’s Covid-19 tally has increased to 2,18,92,676 (approximately 2.18 crore).
In terms of fatalities, India registered 4,187 deaths in the last 24 hours, pushing the death toll to 2,38,270 (about 2.38 lakh) at 1.09% mortality rate.
Meanwhile, India’s cumulative recoveries stand at 1,79,30,960. The data informed that 3,18,609 recoveries were registered in the last 24 hours and the National Recovery Rate stands at 81.90%.
As on day-112 of the vaccination drive (May 7), 22,97,257 vaccine doses were administered. Across 18,692 sessions, 9,87,909 beneficiaries were vaccinated for the first dose and 13,09,348 beneficiaries received their second dose of vaccine.
14,88,528 beneficiaries of the age group 18-44 years received their first dose of Covid vaccine across 30 states and UTs.
Furthermore, it informed that 2933 oxygen concentrators, 2429 oxygen cylinders, 13 oxygen generation plants, 2951ventilators/ Bi PAP/ C PAP and more than three lakh Remdesivir vials have been delivered to the states so far.
