More IMFL goes down, this one in Jakhama

Dimapur, August 16: Assorted liquor that was seized in Jakhama village, under Kohima district, were destroyed in the village by community leaderships on August 15.
Members of the Jakhama Village Council, under Kohima district, and members of youth and women organizations, and GBs among others took part in the destruction of liquor. In a simple function marking the event, the chairman of Jakhama Village Council, Dr. Nolesel Zhotso thanked the youth organization for their service and initiatives in checking the sale of liquor in the village’s jurisdiction. He said that selling and using ‘foreign made liquor’ was not practiced ‘during our forefathers’ time and will not be allowed today also.’
The president of the local youth organization, Swedezhol Savi, said that the youths conducted ‘surprise checks’ on IMFL in the jurisdiction. They caught five families during the raid. The families were imposed a fine of Rs.5,000.
Savi called upon other organizations to cooperate with the youth ‘during surprise checks in the days to come.’
