More condolence messages for minister CM Chang

Dimapur, Oct. 14 (EMN): More condolence messages continue to pour in for minister for Forest, Climate Change, Law and Justice and former Lok Sabha MP, CM Chang, who passed away on October 12 at the Naga Hospital Authority Kohima.

Konyak Union: The Konyak Union while conveying condolences on behalf of the Konyak community, said CM Chang was a tall figure and an influential person, who had contributed immensely towards the welfare of the Naga people especially the Eastern Naga people.

“His visionary works and contribution towards the upliftment of the people will be deeply cherished and remembered. His death has left a vacuum which shall be difficult to fill. In this time of grief and sorrow, the Konyak Union conveys its deepest sympathy to the bereaved family members and prays that the Almighty God will grant comfort and solace. May his soul rest in eternal peace,” the condolence message read.

ENNWU: The Eastern Naga National Workers Union (ENNWU) has expressed sadness at the demise of CM Chang and conveyed condolences to the bereaved family members and close friends.

“CM Chang was a dedicated Naga figure who understands the sentiment of the Indo-Naga political issue. His co-operation and commitment to the Naga cause will be cherished and remembered by the Nagas for all time to come,” it read.

NSB&SG: The Nagaland State Bharat Scouts and Guides (NSB&SG) has expressed sadness at the demise of CM Chang, who was also a member of the NSB&SG.

“He served as the vice-president Nagaland State Bharat Scouts and Guides in 1999 and president of Nagaland State Bharat Scouts and Guides from 2013-2014. He played vital roles in different districts with his support and contribution in paving the way for districts in particular and the State Association towards development. Nagaland State Bharat Scouts and Guides will fondly remember his contributions,” the condolence message read.

“The Nagaland State Bharat Scouts and Guides express our heartfelt condolences and grief on the passing away of our Leader and prayer that God will grant him eternal rest,” it added.

ZBN: The Zeliangrong Baudi Nagaland (ZBN) said the minister was a dedicated man who was loved and admired by the Zeliangrong people and stood for the unity, integrity and cause of its people.

“He married the niece of Rani Gaidinliu and has a great love and concern for the Zeliangrong community. He was one of the advisors of Rani Gaidinliu Memorial Trust and a strong supporter of Zeliangrong Homeland from 1980 till his last breath. He also stood behind Rani Gaidinliu in good and bad times. The ZeliangrongBaudi, while reminiscing the past and his contributions as an Administrative Officer, Member of Parliament, Lok Sabha and a Cabinet Minister, he has done so much for the welfare and development of the Zeliangrong people,” the condolence message read.

“In his demise, we have lost a great soul, a friend and brother-in-law of the Zeliangrong people. The Zeliangrong people convey our heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family members. We pray that God our Almighty grant peace and comfort to his near and dear ones. May the departed soul rest in the sweet arms of our Lord Jesus Christ,” it added.

MCD: Muslim Council Dimapur (MCD) said it ‘fondly remembers CM Chang for his visionary leadership, courage and wisdom. A well-wisher of our community since the time he was serving as an IAS officer. A person who served the state in various capacities throughout his life, he also served as MP Lok Shaba’.

“At this hour of immense grief, we the Muslim Council Dimapur offer our profound tribute to the departed soul and will pray that the soul may rest in eternal peace in heaven. Also may the Almighty God grants his family, relatives and well-wishers peace and strength to bear this pain of loss,” it read.
