More condemns on assault of police officer

The Northern Angami Youth Organization (NAYO) has condemned and expressed outraged against the February 22 night assault at New Jalukie, where one of its members Neizeu Yhome and his assistant both of whom are uniformed personnel were beaten ‘unconscious’ by a group of unruly youths numbering about five individuals all currently under police custody.
In a press statement, NAYO placed on record that, the insensitive behavior of the investigating officer at Jalukie police station towards visiting relatives on February 23 was totally disheartening.Therefore, NAYO has urged the Superintendent of Police ( SP) of Peren to change the investigating officer who had declared all the assaulters as minors without verifying their age through documents or taking any medical opinion.
NAYOsaid it is saddened by the response of such a uniformed personnel towards family members of another uniformed personnel who will bear the scars and after effects of his injuries for life.
The organization opined that it would be in the interest of all, if another officer who will not display unprofessional ethics or suspected favoritism takes charge of the investigation.
NAYO said it is already clear that the manner in which the assaulters outflanked a trained police officer and his assistant bears testimony to their violent behavior. Moreover using lethal objects to knock him unconscious from behind is enough evidence of their intentions.
NAYO reminded law enforcement that releasing Haibobe Zeliang, Kidun Zeliang, Gaijuaklung Rongmei, Dingtanlung and Paulangwang all from New Jalukie village from confinement before the health of the victims is assured and issue is settled both in a court of law and beyond it will cause further complications and already tensed and frayed emotions.
NAYO while wishing a speedy recovery to both UBSI Neizeu and his assistant also expressed its appreciation to the quick response of the local policeman who came across the attack and thwarted any further assault upon his colleagues.
NAYO expressed sincerest gratitude to all the support been given by various related organization’s in the print media. NAYO also urged the home department to immediately take action at the earliest so that such incidents are deterred and the already hurt sentiment of the aggrieved party is not aggravated.
Naga Boys Club;. The Naga Boys Club, Kohima has condemned the brutal assault and attempt on the life of 2nd OC Jalukie PS Neizeu Yhome by the local youths of Jalukie on February 22 last.
NBC president and Chief Coach Roko Angami, in a statement stated that Neizeu was a dedicated and obedient football player of NBC before he joined police service.
The NBC has appealed to the higher authorities and district administration to take appropriate action without further delay. The NBC also wished Neizeu speedy recovery.
ZB (N);. The Zeliangrong Baudi Nagaland is disturbed by the action of unscrupulous youth who purportedly assault Mr. Neizeo Yhome, the officer in charge (OC) of Jalukie and his assistant at Jalukie. The Zeliangrong Baudi take serious note of the incident committed by drunken youth and warned that those inhuman action carry out against the responsible office shall have be dealt with seriously and appealed the law enforcing agency to book the culprit and give punitive befitting punishment so that such brutal act is not perpetrate again in the future. . The Zeliangrong Baudi Nagaland viewed the incident sternly and condemned the act in its highest term and questioned the concern village authority also to see that such brutal activities does not occur in the village by anyone. Baudi wishes Mr. Neineo Yhome a speedy recovery in the course of treatment.
