More condemn Kohima rape

Various organizations have condemned the barbaric act of rape on a minor girl on April 13 at New Minister Hill, Kohima, by one Povetso Nakro, son of Zavesayi Nakro of Pholami village under Phek district, and demanded befitting punishment to the culprit as per the law.
RPOK: Razeba Public Organisation Kohima president, Danyi Domeh, and the general secretary, Darhu Shupao, said such disgusting attitude creates harmful atmosphere for friendly and harmonious relation amongst the society. Stating that the culprit deserves no mercy from any section of society, the Organisation has appealed to the law enforcing agency to promptly award befitting punishment as per the law. The Organisation has also sympathized with the innocent victim and the family who were traumatized by such unacceptable crime.PHN: Poumai Hoho Nagaland has equally condemned the rape of minor in strongest term stating, “under no circumstances can such act on a minor be tolerated.’ The Hoho joint secretary, Hormi Poumai, has appealed to the law enforcing agencies to give the strictest punishment for the savage act as per the law. It has also urged the judicial authority not to grant bail to the culprit under any circumstances. The Hoho has further appreciated the personnel of South Police Station and the Chalhesang Youth Front for the timely arrest of the culprit.
CMA: Chakhesang Mothers’ Association has strongly the condemned the dastardly act of a rape on a minor girl by one Povetso. A condemnation note appended by CMA president, Zaposhelu Venuh, said mothers felt in great pain to have heard of such inhuman act meted out to our minor daughter adding it is beyond human tolerance and endurable under any circumstances. Urging upon the concerned authority to provide the severest punishment to the accused, it further appealed the entire denizens to jointly pressure the law enforcing agencies to award death penalty to the rapists.
CSU: Chakhesang Students’ Union vehemently condemned the April 13 incident where Povetso, (30) of Pholami village and ‘the so call friend of victim’s father’ for raping the 5-year old minor girl. The organization president Seve R Vadeo and general secretary Ngapunyi Krocha have urged every sensible citizen to fight against such brutal and insane act and further appealed the law enforcing authority to award befitting punishment to culprit as per the law of the land, in order to prevent such inhuman act in future.
NWHD: Naga Women Hoho Dimapur (NWHD) president Hukheli T Wotsa and general secretary, Vimenuo Liegise have demanded that the accused should not be granted bail under any circumstances but award befitting punishment as per the law. ‘Law is our umbrella, protector and guardian so law should not be purchasable and inapplicable. It should be honourable and respectable. As it is God’s given law we should obey it with sincerity and honesty,’ the release stated while calling upon the support of all citizens to eliminate rape from society.
WSTH: Strongly condemning the rape of a minor, Western Sumi Totimi Hoho (WSTH) said the incident was most inhuman and shameful act which cannot be tolerated at any cost. In a release, WSTH president Ahimsa K. Zhimo and general secretary Jolly K Aomi said perpetrators of such heinous crime should be condemned by one and all. WSTH urge the authority to award most severe punishment to the culprit.
