DIMAPUR — Mopong Hongkong Nagaland Village Guards Association (MHNVGA) celebrated 25 years of its existence on November 25 at Mopong headquarters in Mon district on the theme “Loyalty and fraternity.”
An update from the association stated that the celebration was inaugurated by A Nyamnyei Konyak, MLA of 48 Moka AC and president of NPP Nagaland, as the special guest, and K Naiba Konyak, MLA of 55 Tobu AC, as the special invitee.
In his speech, the special guest gave a brief history of Mopong Hongkong NVG Association, which was formed to create a sense of unity, dignity, service, courage and justice and to promote solidarity and discipline among the members.
[bsa_pro_ad_space id=1]Delivering short speech, S Laoba Konyak, deputy commandant of Nagaland Village Guards, Mon, called upon the members to maintain discipline and be loyal to their service. While highlighting the grievances of NVG personnel, he sought necessary assistance from the concerned department and state government.
The EAC of Mopong, Wiridin, appreciated the village guards for carrying out their assigned duties with sincerity and diligence and for their continuous support towards the administration.
N Langphong Konyak, convenor of the jubilee planning committee, delivered a keynote.
Drill display by personnel of Mopong Hongkong village guards and performance by New Life Band of Tobu village were other highlights of the celebration. The celebration concluded with a prayer said by the pastors of Mopong Hongkong Baptist Church.
