Dimapur, June 8 (EMN): The Dimapur District Planning and Development Board (DPDB) meeting was held in the Conference Hall of Deputy Commissioner, Dimapur, on June 7.
DC Dimapur, Kevekha Kevin Zehol, who chaired the meeting, reminded the members to attend DPDB meetings regularly and advised them to take it as a platform to come together as a team and work for the betterment of the district.
The board members agreed to forward the proposals for opening two new schools -- Government Primary School Tir village Nagaland and Reform Academy Mission compound, Molvom village – at the meeting. It also decided to approve and forward Nagaland Women Vocational Training Institute, Bank Colony Dimapur to the higher authority for registration.
The house further agreed to forward the proposals for providing grant-in-aid to five schools namely Daeshin Academy, Diphupar B, Dimapur; St. John Hr. Secondary Residential School Dimapur; Mount Hermon School, Darogajan village, Purana Bazaar; St. John High School, Diphupar B; and Nazareth High School, Purana Bazaar Dimapur.
Veterinary and Soil departments also presented departmental activities of the ongoing works at the meeting.
Mokokchung
Mokokchung DPDB also held its monthly meeting at the ADC Planning Cell Hall Mokokchung on June 7 under the chairmanship of W Mangpai Phom, ADC Mokokchung.
The chairman thanked all the line department and NGOs involved in the success of the recently held election in the district, informed an update from DIPR. Two new members -- ER Mhonlumo Kikon, EE (Electrical) Mokokchung and Rohit Singh (IAS), Assistant Commissioner Mokokchung -- were introduced to the board at the meeting.
The meeting included the review of the previous meeting agenda which consisted of government high school performance in the HSLC (2019) result. After a lengthy deliberation, the Board recommended the registration of two societies namely Aruju Tsuki-Bachelors’ Dormitory, Chantongya village and Society for Prevention of Cruelty to Animals, Mokokchung district.
It also resolved that all private buses should ply only from the inter-state bus terminus point.
On the department’s weekly attendance report, which has been reported since last DPDB meeting by all the departments, the chairman directed to continue the same till further order.
