Dimapur, June 6 (EMN): The deputy commissioner (DC) of Mon, Thavaseelan K, has issued an advisory prohibiting heavy vehicles from plying along the stretch of road from NST Junction to Mon-Sonari road, Mon town, as it has been damaged due to incessant rainfall.

The prohibition is in view of public safety and shall be effective till further orders, it informed.

In a separate notice, the DC of Wokha, Orenthung Lotha, has advised travellers on medical or other emergencies to avoid the route between Chukitong Town and Doyang bridge at NH-2 (97+400) under Wokha district “in pursuance of the letter received from Anusha Project Private Ltd.” and in view of a major mudslide caused by the incessant rain in the stretch of road.

It informed that ‘there could be a long queue of traffic due to the ongoing clearance of mud and rock debris’, and that further advisory will be issued shortly in this connection.
