Nagaland extends summer vacation by one week for Mon schools affected by July 19 landslides and flash floods
DIMAPUR — Nagaland government has extended the summer vacation by one week for all schools affected by the July 19 landslides and flash floods in Mon district, providing relief to students and teachers grappling with widespread damage to school buildings and infrastructure.
In an order issued by the Directorate of School Education, the extension applies to all schools under the jurisdiction of Mon district that were affected by the disaster.
The Directorate has directed all school heads to compensate for the extended break by conducting classes on working Saturdays.
The extension comes as several schools across Mon district continue to assess damage caused by the July 19 disaster, which triggered landslides and floods across Mon, Tizit, Naginimora, Aboi, Wakching and Tobu.
