KOHIMA — Mon and Niuland booked their spots in the Dr. T Ao Trophy final, scheduled for August 15, after defeating Mokokchung and Kohima respectively in the semi-finals at Indira Gandhi Stadium, Kohima, on Wednesday.
In the first semi-final, Mon secured a 3-0 victory over Mokokchung. Laiwang opened the scoring in the 42nd minute, followed by Arap’s strike in first-half injury time (45+3) for a 2-0 lead at the break. Amun’s 81st-minute goal sealed the win.

Niuland edged Kohima 3-2 in the second semi-final. Toka (37’) and Lokivi (43’) put Niuland ahead before halftime, with Kakhevi adding a third in the 66th minute. Kohima rallied through Kevizakie (73’) and Nisede (89’), but fell short of an equaliser.
The second semi-final was officiated by an all-women refereeing team.
Deputy Chief Ministers TR Zeliang and Y Patton served as match patrons for the day’s fixtures. The grand finale between Mon and Niuland will kick off at 4 pm on August 15 at Indira Gandhi Stadium.
