Mon imposes total lockdown in some areas

Dimapur, Aug. 31 (EMN): The deputy commissioner of Mon, Thavaseelan K, has announced total lockdown in Aboi Town, Ngangching village and Aopao village under Mon district from August 29 to September 4.

“Movement of public and private vehicles is strictly prohibited except on medical emergencies. All business/commercial establishments and shops shall remain closed,pharmacies were exempted. Not more than 20 persons will be permitted in case of funerals. No movement will be permitted in or out of Aboi, Ngangching village and Aopao village,” informed an update from APRO Aboi on Monday.

DC said that the total lockdown has been enforced in the light of certain emerging circumstances and with a view to contain the spread of Covid-19.

He has requested the public to comply with the order and warned that any person found violating the order will be penalised under relevant provisions of the law.
