DIMAPUR — The first Mon Film Festival, organised by the district administration of Mon, is scheduled to be held on December 18 and 19 in Mon district.

Filmmakers, videographers, and creative minds have been invited to submit their work for nomination in various award categories.

This was announced during a press conference at Hotel Europa Inn, Dimapur, by filmmaker Neangbah Konyak, who also mentioned that participants can submit their short films on topics such as entertainment, environment, social issues, etc.

Neangbah said that filmmakers from Nagaland can submit 10-minute short films to participate in the festival. The films can be uploaded to Google Drive and emailed to monfilmfestival@gmail.com.

So far, 22 films have been received, and he added that one person can submit up to 10 films.

At the press conference, filmmaker Atae Konyak also expressed that the government should take an interest in filmmaking in Nagaland, which would encourage youths to pursue films and entertainment.

Atae shared that the last date for submission of entries is December 15. The winners will be awarded cash prizes, certificates, and trophies by the government. The categories include best director, best story, best actor/actress, best photography, and best editing.

The district administration of Mon will provide accommodation to the participants.
