Mon: Escaped prisoners still on the run

Dimapur, Nov. 20 (EMN): The nine inmates who escaped Mon district jail on November 19 are still at large, and efforts are on to track down the escapees, informed a Mon Police personnel on Sunday.

The police officer informed that they have deployed a search operation at various locations but no one has been re-arrested, till the time of filing this report.

He added that they got the information regarding the escaped prisoners at around 6 am on Saturday, while adding that there was “very less chance” for the prisoners to escape to other states as they had alarmed the police stations near the border areas.

The police officer further informed that out of the nine inmates, seven were under trail and two were convicted.
