DIMAPUR — The monthly meeting of the Mon District Planning and Development Board (DPDB) for August was held on Wednesday at the Deputy Commissioner (DC) conference hall.
The DC of Mon and Vice Chairman of the DPDB, Wennyei Konyak, presided over the proceedings, according to a DIPR report.
After reviewing the minutes of the last meeting, the DC opened the agendas for grant-in-aid in respect of three schools: Good Samaritan School, Phomching Town; Holy Angels School; and Holy Trinity School, Tizit.

Shamator, Mokokchung DPDB meetings prioritise development
In this regard, Senior Sub-Divisional Education Officer Rose Ngullie gave a brief account of the schools and their building conditions. The house discussed the matter thoroughly and agreed to forward it to the higher authority for further necessary action.
The house also discussed the Mon Administrative Headquarters platinum jubilee, which will be held in 2026. The board decided to set up a committee comprising all the heads of departments of the district.
The house discussed the successful celebration of the upcoming Independence Day, where the DC urged all government employees to be more responsible, especially the outpost officers, in participating in the event. He requested them not only to attend but also to celebrate it.
