Mon district receives national award for e-Governance

Dimapur, Jan. 8 (EMN): Nagaland’s Mon district received the national award for e-Governance (Silver) under the category of ‘Use of ICT in the management of Covid-19’ at the 24th National Conference on e-Governance held in Hyderabad.
Deputy Commissioner of Mon, Thavaseelan K received the award presented by the department of Administrative Reforms and Public Grievances (DARPG), India.
National awards for e-Governance are presented every year for exemplary implementation for e-Governance initiatives to recognise and promote excellence in implementation of e-Governance initiatives.
The project head and team members from Mon district were Thavaseelan K; Vineet Kumar, SDO (Civil), Mon; and Ilika Zhimomi, SDO (Civil), Mon (HQ).
This year, the categories for the awards were excellence in government process re-engineering for digital transformation, universalising access including e-services, excellence in district-level initiative in e-governance, outstanding research on citizen centric services by academic research institutions, excellence in adopting emerging technologies and use of ICT in the management of Covid-19.
“Technology in Aid to Administration (TIIA) initiative of District Administration Mon, Government of Nagaland received SILVER Award under Scheme of NAeG 2020-21 in the 24th National Conference on e-Governance at Hyderabad on January 7-8, 2022,” DARPG, India tweeted.
It may be mentioned that the main purpose of the award is to encourage incremental innovations in successful e-Governance solutions.
