EMN Dimapur, December 19 While the so-called educated and ‘socially more perceptive’ Dimapur has yet to understand the implications of the use of firecrackers on health, environment, and security in the current context of Nagaland, Wokha and Mon district administrations have banned the nuisance and hazard. Mon district has banned firecrackers and have warned of serious action if the order is violated.The band has been imposed in view of the volatile law and order situation in Mon town and Mon district in general, and with a view to maintain peace and tranquility in the area. The deputy commissioner of Mon W Honje Konyak issued a notice on Friday banning ‘bursting of fire crackers and selling of fire crackers’ in Mon town with immediate effect. ‘Anybody found violating this order shall be dealt seriously. The police with the assistance of the DBs are directed to enforced this order with immediate effect,’ the Mon administration said.
