Mokokchung Town Lanur Telongjem condoles loss of eight lives
DIMAPUR — Mokokchung Town Lanur Telongjem (MTLT) has expressed anguished over the tragic accident on September 21 at K Station village in Tseminyu district which claimed eight precious lives.
MTLT has conveyed condolence to the bereaved family members and prayed for peace of the departed souls.
Meanwhile, MTLT has acknowledged the prompt action of the Nagaland Police in Tseminyu and Wokha, SDRF personnel and all the civil society organisations who have rendered their help.
It has appreciated the chief minister, Neiphiu Rio, for announcing an ex-gratia of INR 2 lakh to the victims’ families. It also appreciated the Home minister, Y Patton, for ordering a thorough investigation into the accident.
Further, MTLT appealed to the Nagaland State Transport department and its nodal agencies to seriously take note of the rising number of accident cases in the state. It suggested the concerned department to initiate thorough brainstorming sessions involving all stakeholders so that a viable solution could be worked out.
MTLT has expressed willingness to render support–intellectually and logistically–should the concerned government agencies need their help to ensure safer streets and highways.
