Mokokchung to host Dr. T Ao Trophy 2022

Mokokchung, Feb. 21 (EMN): The Nagaland Football Association (NFA) and Mokokchung District Football Association (MDFA) in a joint press conference announced on Monday that the 22nd Inter-District Football Tournament (Dr. T. Ao Trophy 2022) will commence on April 19.

NFA President K Neibu Sekhose informed that Mokokchung has been selected to host the event as Dr. T. Ao is from Mokokchung and the people of the district are football crazy.

“Mokokchung should take this opportunity as a privilege as well as a challenge,” he said while asserting that it will not be an easy task.

The NFA also requested the new districts to get affiliated with the association and participate in its 50th Anniversary as well as in the upcoming tournament.

Merentoshi R Jamir, Convener of the Planning Committee, also informed that Dr. T. Ao Trophy 2022 will tentatively be held for 10 days and expressed hope the all the districts, including the new districts (16 teams) will participate in the tournament.
